Dual Booting OS

Postby Ryan » Thu Jul 24, 2003 7:23 pm

Im going to dual boot RH 7.2 and Win 2k Pro. I got Partitaion Magic 8 to shrink my NTFS partition.. should I format the empty space on the HDD with a Linux file system? Or leave it blank?

Also, what software will i need for a boot screen? One that asks user if they want to run RH or Windows.

Thanks!

you'll need to use a linux FS when you install, ext3 or reiser, etc.

I would say leave it blank.

you need at least a /boot <swap> and / (root) partition. The installer can autoset that or you can do it manually from the installer

I always layout my entire HD using partition magic before installing.
