I use arrow forward, arrow back, ctrl and Numlock 0 for strafing, crouch is numlock 1, running is \, jump is shift, mouse 1 and 2 are shoot/reload

Man I have some crazy keys set up for my wolf, but they work really well for me anyway. Almost every key is on the right side of the keyboard. I move with the arrows. I don't even have keys set up for look left or right. My mouse is on free look so that's how I see around me.
Ctrl=crouch
shift=run
delete=lean left
pgdown=lean right
mouse2=jump

My keypad is what I use to change my weapons. Enter on the keypad is to activate and the del/. key is to reload. Yeah my controls are way crazy compared everyone elses but every thing is close together.

Does anyone else use the right mouse button to move forward? I think I am one of the very few people who do.

i've heard of people using mouse2 for "forward" but only 1 or 2 (i think you're 2 edogg)

there's no way in hell that would work for me

controls are so different, i expected most to be somewhere near my WASD controls
but i know that the 1st thing i do- before ever playing a new game - is go into options and remap to my taste

it works well because it frees up my left hand to do strafing, jumping, reloading etc all while on the move.

I use A and D to move left and right.

I strafe with left and right arrows.. up forward, back backpetal. mouse look... control crouch, mouse 1 attack, mouse 2 jump, moue 3 knife, mouse wheelup special item 1, mouse wheeldown special item 2, \ is hi lol
enter is machine gun.. and then shift is reload.. its a bit weird hehe

I use the usually WASD for moving forward-backward-strafe. and I only turn around with my mouse.
Seems the circular shafe is the best choice

I think a lot of people who first played the very first FPS's for the computer started using the arrows and thats all they know. And because i am young I just started out straifing with the wasd keys and i guess I just got used to it. I think its so much easier to look with the mouse then to have to hit an arrow key and wait for it to spin you around when a quick flick of the mouse will sping you around...especially needed when an enemy is behind you. and circle straifing is good...i am still learning it though.

mouse1 - fire, mouse2 - use, mouse3 - drop

q and e - look around corners
space bar - jump
c - crouch
z - zoom
f - push
r - reload
u - playdead
g - grenade pack
b - binoculars
shift - sprint
caps lock - walk

Those are my main buttons that I use. And, I do use all of them regularly.

strafing is the way to go, i use mouselook and a special keys..... mouse keys for moving, and keyboard for shooting and other stuff, it works better for me than default settings, and i've introduced it to many friends and they like it too

i've had like over 20 1 on 1 fights with keek, yeah i remember them because they are the best moments on this game when i beat him, i think i've only won 5-6 of them , we straif and jump around so much that i lose track of him, and he pumps me full of lead behind me...
