Off subject but, Who the hell cares what the Mayans think?
It all comes down to that I think very soon we'll reach our limit. For ex. Video Games most of us here i would think are familiar with them.
I for one cant see games getting too much better in terms of like asteroids to where we are now. The world will be all like "UMM this is not possible" and explode.
If you think I'm lying just look at music today. For the most part its total crap and garbage. We've almost reaced the limit boys.
Find me a better guitarist then Hendrix and I'll pay u $500.

Early projections are 1 in 2,000,000 it would impact the earth.
I like our chances.
More f'ing media hype. Get the public worked-up about something that's not going to happen 11 years from now!
The sky is falling!

First off i do agree .. the Mayans... wtf?
But, if you read historical writings on science... that sentiment has been stated many times in the past 100 years. If that mentality "won" in the past .. hell we never would have made penicillin much less made it to the moon.
Also... Stevie Ray Vaughn does a much better version of "Little Wing" than Hendrix's original. (My opinion)

If the kids today, didn't buy the 'crap and garbage', they wouldn't continue to publish it. It's not like there's a shortage of good music out there. MTV is force-feeding sex and rap-crap to their audience and you guys (teens) are just lapping it up.
Rap/Hip-hop is the music industry's method of appealing to teenagers who:
1) want to have sex due to hormone overload
2) want to be tough because they're not quite adults yet but want to act like they're 'all that'
Until the music-buying customers quit buying crap, they'll keep churning it out! No reason to stop.
Maybe the folks who run MTV will stop glorifying sex, sex, and more sex when every man, woman, and child has an STD.

Stevie Ray Vaughn WAS one of the best blues guitar players around, but died in a plane crash years back

Sad to see such a talented musician die in an awful way....
As in bad music, yes I agree!
Being a senior in high school, I will listin to a rap song only if it has good musicality in it...
If it has no melody or is just some Cliche' garbage, i change the radio station!
Is this normal for me not buying into the cliche/crap era of music...
I listin to music from the 60's, 70's, 80's and 90's...
The 00's suck because the talent is gone...
Just look at The white stripes...they suck complete ass!
Seven Nation Army is the most stupid, simple song ever!
Sorry...but I needed to get that rant off...thank you

K what does that rant have to do with me? first of all, i know who stevie ray vaughn is. Second of all I dont even like rap or pop music. third, Im guessing you dont even know who tom morello is. Have you ever listened to Rage Against the machine or Audioslave? Tom Morello is the most creative and innovative guitarist since Jimi Hendrix.
Basically there is nothing you could say to convince me otherwise. Ive listend to the greatest guitarists of the 60's,70, and 80's. There were very few great guitarists to come out of the 90's, and Tom Morello was the best of those few. I challenege anyone to listen to all of Rage's albums and audioslave's too. There is no way you can say he doesnt have talent, especially once you find out that all of those crazy sounds you hear are coming out of his guitar.

First off Audioslave is the "BLEH" nothing against tom as i think he is a good guitarist and i did enjoy rage but i cant stand Cornells terrible whiny vocals.
My problem with all this mainstream rock mtv "video killed the radio star" garbage is its all whiny "feel sorry for me" garbage. Not to say that theres not good stuff out there its just increasingly difficult to find. Its been a pretty dry spell for music for me in this last year. Only notable bands were QOTSA, radiohead and blurs new album, and Sparta Hives also.
And Hendrix owns all others, heh just my opinion listen to his take on Red House and tell me he doesnt rock.
