What car do you drive?

Off topic, but don't go too far overboard - after all, we are watching...heh.

Pontiacs make big ol' POS now adays. The GTO is looking liek the first good thing Pontiac has done in a long time. Wait before trying to buy one, there is to be a very limited edition with 400 HP compared to the 350HP on the stock GTO.

nah I won't be buying one unless i hit the lottery( i don't even play) new house and baby on the way I'd was hoping to build a new pc looks like that is on hold not to mention my broken kitty( also costing me big bucks)

I drive a green '73 AMC Pacer, with wood siding and an eight-track cassette player.

It's the only car whose value doubles when you fill the tank.

I actually traded my IMAC for this car. All-in-all it's an even deal, I'd say, but at least the car gets me places (as long as where I'm going is downhill from my current location.).

Here's my bus. I need a diesel engine to provide sufficient towing power for my travel trailer. Gas motors in the Rockies just suck at towing.

But try to park this thing in a tight spot or shoot a U-turn - fuh-get about it!

Toyota 2001 Landcruiser:
http://www.toyota.com/landcruiser/

/\-----Mine in 3 months, it's my mom's now, because that's when I get my license in December (you have to be 16 and 1 month here in Maryland), and I only have my learner's permit right now, and she wants me to drive it so I dont crash and die, and its pretty damn big.

BUT, my ultimate dream would be to have one of these babies:
http://www.suzuki-bikes.com/hayabusa1300.php

/\-----Fastest Bike in the world.

Damn, I could only imagine..........only I would never ride it since I really don't like to go in excess of 220 mph, and I already know that one of my cousin's friends killed himself test riding it in Germany, and his head was found in the helmet 50 meters away from the body, and only the steering wheels remained of the bike.

But if you not I won't advise getting the Lancer. For a 40k car it only runs around 14'ish, and thats not acceptable. One of my friends(rich) had his daddy buy him one, and we will never let him live it down what a waste of money it was.

BTW I have stock alloy rims for the 86 Daytona. A future classic if its all stock.

This isn't a Ford. Let me reiterate that, for the hearing impaired. IT IS NOT A FORD. See This URL: http://www.turbocharger.co.uk/rs-cosworth-escort.html I have the 95 Pony, which IS a Ford. It's a cheap beater. The Cosworth, is NOT a Ford. It is a COSWORTH. Note how the engine is a Cosworth YBT, not a Ford CVH family. I drive a lot, and I need a car that gets respectable fuel milage. The Cossie gets ~12MPG on it's best days, Regal is around 18MPG and premium only of course, the Escort is 36MPG on cheapo. When you log >30,000mi/year, having something that can get 36MPG is pretty important to you. Plus the CVH is easy to work on and the parts are cheap (and don't have to be shipped across the Atlantic.) Sorry, but I'm somewhat frugal. My primary commuter is indeed, the beater. Because even with all that horsepower on tap, I can't justify the amount of gas it takes the monsters to go from point A to point B.
The Lancer isn't a go-fast. It's a 4 door. I don't have to worry about the kid ruining the expensive to clean leather, and we (as in my woman and I) can at least agree on it. She doesn't like the Regal, not one bit. :( So basically it's a compromise. Something moderately quick (though the Regal puts out 260HP/260ft/lbs stock, vs 271/240 on the Lancer IIRC,) with four doors, that isn't a Maxima. I haven't got anything really against the Maxima, but agreement is agreement. Though it's looking like that order'll be put off till after taxes possibly. Ah well.

Which ones? There's several models of Daytonas in '86, mine are among the rarer ones. Total production was something like 30,000 cars. Primarily G24 chassis, some GV24 (TurboZ), and ~7,000 GVS24 TurboZ Carrol Shelbys. Just look for the C/S badges on the fenders and the ugly 15x6.5" wheels. ;) Not that the phone dials are any better...

Thanks, Naz. People seem to be on different sides of the fence regarding the color (Teal). Some see it as nostalgic and love it. Others think it's sissified. I bought it used so I didn't have much choice. It looks good when it's clean.
