Been kinda buried in swg as mentioned. I thought I would post a picture of me and my cat rex. He's a great hunter and keeps the heat off me :)

Actually the environments are quite cool. They grassy fields sway the clouds roll by. There's changing weather and a real time clock. The different planets are pretty neat. The terrain is not just one flat place.

Arrgh....avoid the game for now. It's got alot of cool shit, nice graphics (although they cap the framerate at 29, which means you lag alot in cities, and certain environments). It's just LOADED with bugs, and SOE's idea of tech support/cust support is to DELETE YOUR TICKETS (cust problems/complaints, like I'm stuck in a building, my house disappeared, etc) BECAUSE THE CUST SERVICE REPS ARE OVERWHELMED. Niice looking game, soon to be nice playing (once they can iron out someo more bugs), but miserable cust support (They make EA look like guardian angels). This is a game that's at least 6mo's too early, still in beta (and you're paying $15/mo for it!!!!).

I can honestly say I haven't had an issue. I've read posts from others that have on the general forums, but I read posts like that for any game. Yes the frame rate is capped and I see lag sometimes in the city. But it's no different than the ocassional lag I see in other games. The game runs nice and smooth for me.

Rex is a wrix cat and I sick him on quite a few things. :) I basically use him to pull the enemy and then I can crack em from a distance while providing heals for him. It's quite effective. Currently I'm working towards combat medic and pistoleer. I've met a good group of people that have helped my advance go quite well.

I'll post some more pics soon.

Stop bashing a great game..

1) They cap the framerate at 29 so that ALL players on Broadband or Dialup can play. Framerate does have a big impact on your connection. If you have a low framerate, that attributes to not being able to send the information about your actions to the servers, thus giving the person with a higher framerate an advantage. With a 29 FPS cap, most of the time these problems are avoided. Also, bandwidth on your connection and framerate go hand-in-hand: If you have crappy bandwidth, your framerate WILL be lower, in order to be able to keep up with the environment.

2) All MMORPG's have tons of bugs. EQ isn't perfect, but it's close - because it's been out for years. You can't really get a lot of the bugs until post-development because the problems that they need to fix would not show up during Beta testing.

3) At least they HAVE tech support. EA is a lot worse. They don't listen to the community, but the developers at LucasArts/SOE do interact with the community. So the support staff is overwhelmed. Big deal, that's what you get for a game that has over 100,000 people playing.

4) The game may have been rushed a bit, but it's definitely not like what Beta was. I was in the games Beta testing and they have gone a long way since then.
