I honestly don't know what to think of this, privacy or economy...it does in fact bother us as citizens, but in my own mind, it also does, even slightly help the sluggish economy. I could be wrong, and I know it's not a significant amount of money that it brings in, but I just think it's a bad idea. (And yes, I HATE TELEMARKETERS)

Ughh if you think this is going to hurt the economy your wrong. Dont forget these are the jobs that are listed as "Dream Job!! Make good money at home blah blah blah" I dont see how they have any basis to dispute the do-not-call list. If i say I dont want you to call me then you shouldnt call me its my phone i pay for the service and I'm telling you i dont want ur shit wats the problem. Heh sorry I get like 2 million crap calls a day.

lmao. Wait until you get your own place, and get bombarded by calls. Then post here ;)

All I have to say is that if you had to listen to my phone ring all day, you would want this to happen too. Ive actually developed a bad habit of not answering the phone at all because we get so many BS calls. My caller id is just bombarded with unkown, blocked, and out of state calls. It really boils down to harassment and privacy issues.

Aint that the truth- when I moved in July, I was geting telemarketers calling before I had time to give anyone my number. Now if that doesn't suck, then what does?

What needs to be dome is everyone who gets calls from places that actually do have a number that shows up in callerID, make a few calls there every once in a while. See how they like it :) As a rule, I berate telemarketers like its my duty- and I press them for their own home phone number, so I may call and antagonize them at 3 am. Why 3 am? Why the hell not? If I'm awake then, I'll call then. They have no regard for my time, I'll have none for theirs.

Of course, theres always the little matter that for some reason, they never give me their home phone number...

It's about damn time! I don't think the issue here is free-speech, I wish the freaking judges would stop treatiing it like it is.

A call to my personal phone is not a right. I have the right to have you not call me in the privacy of my home. Telemarketers and their jobs be damned! I respect someone who works at burger king more than I respect some telemarketing bastard.

I've been enjoying Missouri's no-call list now for a couple of years. Those of you who didn't already have a state law for it are in for a treat.

Ahhhhh...it's so quiet.Image

I haven't really been following this too closely, but I have heard that the Court blocked it regarding a 1st amendment violation. Now....

SINCE WHEN DO COMPANIES GET THESE KIND OF RIGHTS LIKE PEOPLE???
