It is sad. California showed Florida it hs nothing to be embarrassed about.
I do like how California pissed on our entire election process. How in the hell do you recall a politician for something they did in a previous term?
It makes no sense.

You're kidding right? Do you know how bad the economy is here? Do you know that businesses are moving out of state by the dozens? Do you know that the automobile registration fees have tripled in a feeble attempt to compensate for piss-poor management? .......
The recall allows California citizens to admit that electing Davis was a mistake and allows them to do something about it......

Davis has proven himself incompetent and an expert at pandering to special interests while the state goes down the toilet. While Arnold seems a dubious choice, at least he hasn't proven himself incompetent.
Bit of fact - during Davis' administration state revenues increased 25% but spending increased 40%. Gee its so shocking that we have a deficit. During the recall campaigning the candidates, including Davis, ran around telling us they spent too much money in the past years and it was a mistake. So whats the solution, triple the damn car tax and take more of our money. Doesn't that seem ridiculous?
Arnold is untested and unexperienced, but I knwow what we had was ridiculous. Hope this new administration isn't also.

Lemme see...
- Guy comes here at the age of 18 from Austria with nothing
- Hooks up with Joe Weider and becomes the one of the all-time most successful bodybuilders
- Makes a few movies and becomes one of the all-time most successful action stars
- With the help of his financial advisors, makes several investments to make his personal worth between $200M and $500M
If that's ignorant, I'd love to join the club.
I'm not 100% convinced that Schwarzenegger is the right man for the job, but I can tell you that Charlie the Tuna would have done a better job than Gray Davis. Davis has single-handedly turned the economy upside-down with his anti-business, anti- working class, pro-special interest governing...

California is merely a lesson in what happens when you let the democratic party machine that's controlled by unions have the control and the keys to the pantry...
As for Ah-nold... well, Minnesota elected Jesse Ventura, and that state hasn't fallen off the earth or spontaneously imploded... who out of those two has the more sordid past? BTW, I like Jesse Ventura. Ex SEAL, a little crazy, and successful. What's not to like?
People talk like being the governor is equal to brain surgery or something... I mean it's not easy, but shouldn't citizens who aren't lawyers or career politicians be able to serve in political offices? Personally, I think this country would be a lot better off if lawyers were NOT allowed to serve in office

This is just ignorant.
And the Republican's, since Reagan and his Trickle Down Economics(which never worked, as it has one big flaw: greed), is good for the nation, right?
Let me guess, there is no relation to the Republicans giving large businesses and the upper income brackets massive tax breaks helping our trillions of dollars national dept grow each and every year, right? To the point where our brilliant President adds almost another trilion in only 2 years!!

Come on...................
Again, this is pissing on our entire election process. He is being recalled for his PREVIOUS term, not current term. You bozo's elected him knowing what happened first term. Deal with it.

MAybe this is what CA needs - a fresh face not muddied by prior political "experience". If worse comes to worse the voters in CA can always recall "the govenator".
"Well, we're not just gonna let you walk out of here."
"Who's we sucka!?"
"Smith and Wesson and me."

First, please show me the section of the recall provision that requires the basis of the recall to be during the current term.
Second, one fact strongly argued by proponents of the recall was that Gray had lied about the state of the deficit during the last election. Approx. 20 days after he wins he comes out and says, oops it looks like the deficit is actually 35 biliion.
Third, what the hell do you mean "bozos"? the California democrat party elected him. I guess you mean the California democrats are bozos?

Ok, so Bush should be recalled right now for understating the deficit?
I prefered the first one; who the F are you calling bozo's. The bozo's would obviously be the ones that voted for him.
You piss all over our election process by doing this recall. Then it became that stupid circus of an election.
The grandfolks in Miami-Dade are sitting in their homes(with the AC off, of course), thinking 'thank god we are not that stupid.'

Who the hell is "you"? I don't know if you are refering to me personally or some general set of people somewhere that you have an issue with. I agree that the recall was a circus.
"Election process" I thought the recall was an election? More people voted to oust Davis than voted to put him in. Further, to get the recall started over 2 million signed a petition. Seems like the people spoke to me. Ultimately, I think the electorate was angry about the overspending and pandering to special interests. I dont think handing drivers licenses and free community college educations to illegal aliens was very bright.
If you have a problem with the process then you should be arguing that the California law should be changed not saying that the people that followed the rules are pissing on the election. I think the law should be changed and clarified.
The federal government doesn't have a recall provision like California does so I don't know what you're talking about regarding Bush. However, I think Bush has serious economic issues to deal with in his reelection campaign. If the people decide that he hasn't addressed them appropriately and if they believe it is a serious issue then they will not reelect him.

You realize, of course, that it was California's Progressive Party that implemented the principles of "direct democracy." Funny - I always thought that my "progressive" friends always trumpeted the virtues of democracy....
Anyway, how exactly is this recall "piss[ing] all over our election process?" Aren't the voters of California sovereign to do (or vote for) whatever they wish? Looks like at least they supported the recall.
