Here is another thing I have noticed when playing:
One thing I liked about the server was the perceived difficulty of transmitting the docs. When the allies won, it was a fantastic win for the allies....but when the axis win, it is expected (if teams arent stacked). Now, I find that in games where teams are move even...the allies have a much better chance of winning.
Some of you may think thats a good thing, but I play on ND80's server, and the allies have won 50% of the time. Eventually, running the docs no longer had the same excitement it once had. The difficulty in 24/7beach was what made capping the docs especially exciting. Not saying its not gonna be fun to transmit...but from what I've seen, its going to be less of a challenge, so I'd feel less sense of accomplishment.
Thats just another thing I have noticed while playing with the new settings. What other changes have you guys noticed?

i've only been playing on the EC beach for 6-8 months so i can't compare the server to what it used to be but
i've always liked the slow Lt charge and heavy weapons limits- i was cool with the setup as it was and voted for No Change
but since the panz limit - the reality is that i've just wanted to play more
there definitely are more gunfights (to be fair- the gunfights are usually pretty lopsided when the server's full
and the nade spamming is pretty heavy too) but I used to play on Konjin's Headshot Server (Only headshots did damage) which was fun as hell for a while and the new panz limits do kinda test you in the same way. couldn't deny that most of the games were pretty intense today

to be truthful i really only go to 24/7 beach because i know everyone there and everyone there is cool and most people arent ass holes. its like cheers lol. i say shit to get under peoples skin. i dont really care whats limited or if its no holds barred i just play to have fun with people i know online.

I disagree. People camp the war room just as much now as before. The allies arnt just walking off with the docs.
I mayself are enjoying the close gun fights more now then before.
Change is good. It keeps a certain level of "trying to get on top of your game" again. I know, I know you just got there but you can get there again. Most pp don't like change and feel uncomfortable with it till they get used to it. Play more on the server before making a judgment. Give it a chance.

Did I ever say there was less camping? In fact, over the past couple days, I think there is increased defense of the basement (probably due to less panzers taking out clusters of people dumb enough to walk together). I call this "defense" because I have no problem with this. Do what is needed to win. However, I say that the lower panzer limit results in more allies victories because:
1. They can cluster a whole lot more and not worry about a shell clearing all 10 of them
2. If the axis are defending in the basement...there are only 2 panzers to worry about, not 4
3. In my opinion, two noobs in control of the panzers on axis has a larger negative effect than if two noobs have the panzers on allies (except if they block maybe). A good player in control of a panzer on axis is quite often save the game single-handedly
Because of these reasons, I think that allies win more than they did with 4 panzers. I never said they "walked off with the docs"...I'm just saying I've witnessed more allied victories than before. And I liked the usually immense odds against the allies...if I wanted the allies to win often, I would go play on another server. The greater challenge you overcome, the greater the sense of accomplishment, imo
And did I ever say I am not giving this a chance? If you read my posts, you'll see that I'm simply listing observations I have noticed so far. Most of this is my opinion...however there are probably people out there that share my opinion on some stuff I say (1 or 2?

Oh yea, and I played with 3 panzer limit (Not sure why or how it got changed). It was pretty fun. I liked Aphid's idea the most tho....4 panzer limit, but severe punishment for suicides...I say make it -15 or so for a panzer suicide, and if you get -25 you get booted or something. The main problem I see with this idea is...is it possible to set the server to do that? I have no clue what running a server is like.

Actually I like the idea more of not letting Noobs have the big guns by making it a quota accomplishment. You would need a certain amount of time on the server or number of kills to earn the use of the big guns.
When I started out I didnt use the big guns because I learned fast I did not have the skill for it. Instead I concentrated on being a good med and learned to use the SMG. After some practice and observation of other players I eventually started using the big guns but that was after many hours.
This all was on a server with FF on. When I played a Med I was less likely to TK and more likely to be a help to my team. Unfortunately most new players fail to realize they can be more help in a support position and grab the big guns thinking that is the reason the good players have all the kills and or points.
They fail to realize the reason really is experience and skill.
Last night I was killin noobs like crazy in the ducts and was still at full health when Seether came in the Ducts and fragged my ass with one Grenade. The Noobs knew I was there and could not touch me. Thats the difference experience makes.
If it was up to me I would make the noobs gradually progress through the weapons by forcing them to earn them. Having said that I am fine with the server the way it was or the way it is now. I have fun either way.

The response "give the changes a chance" was a GENERAL comment not directed at you Nofx. You know my stance on this subject. The rest of this post is a GENERAL comment not directed at you Nofx.
I think the one of the reasons for ppl getting all upset is the fact they can't panzer as often as they would like. Harder to aquire panzer now. Too bad there's no way to make sure its "shared" more often.
I know I'm having more fun. And so are others. The more ppl have fun the longer this server will remain alive. Iv'e seen this happen with other games..the ppl that are good demand more challenge. Problem with catering to that group is (what I call) "new player flow" and that tends to be a bigger group of ppl. If you make it so hard for new players to have fun and play.. they move on.. they are the ones that help keep the game alive. Without there presence, your presious game dies. Ppl with the skills (smaller group of ppl) move on for a variable of reasons one of which is they get bored with the same game over and over so making a change here and there may keep there enthusiasm. Of course all things end in there due time but we'd like to keep things going alittle longer if we can. The game balance will never be to everyones liking.

Lets face it the changes are for the best
And considering that im relatively new here, as there was talk of "unlimited airstrikes, heavy weopons", back in the day, changes were needed back then to, why?
just growing pains i suspect, as is the case now, lots of regs that are dialed in to the point that as spawn shield ends so does your life. and the dopes with these weopons, not even worthy of comment.
has anyone noticed the increased intensity?
And how about when facing a completly stacked axis team, I bet even the biggest critic of these changes would agree, or at the very least go into limbo.
sure you can "go around' for what to have a 1 on 15?
maybe the days of 2.00 and higher KR's are over, so what.
the level of play will go higher thats whats important

well..im quoting myself on this, read back on page 6 for my full idea, but heres the main points.
----
ok, heres my opinion on the subject:
(remember, stats are perm, so this is not per round)
-there should be a 'points' system
-kills are points
-no nades until 50 kills
-no snipers until 300 kills
-no Panzer until 1000 kills
-no flamer until 1500 kills
----
i truely think that a system such as that would help reward 'regulars'
