Oh cool, I dont know anything about running a server...I didnt know you could make it so easy. Cow, why dont you run your own server with those settings so some of us can test it out? Yea....I say don't even get panzer till at least 5,000 kills, that'll make us work for it and ensure that you know how to use other weapons at least...also Venoms should require kills too..and is it possible to make it so instead of "no nades until certain kills", what if when you get 100 kills, you spawn with 1 nade, 500 2 nades, etc (of course, theyd still be capped by the class the character was using). I dont know, these are just ideas I'm throwing out there, not sure if it would work...but I'd love to test it:blow:

it wouldnt be too* hard to do for those who can do some simple scripts. then, they could do a script for /rules (in console) to explain this.
i was givin out low numbers just as an exampleif it were up to me, all of those numbers would at least be doubled.
its not just some simple sripts. It would take someone like shrub to add those features to his mod, which is what the server uses. I think shrub is pretty much done with Rtcw and has moved on to ET.

the people at smokeherb were able to set up a money system, so i dont think itll take another shrub.
i, on the otherhand, cannot even design maps, just giving examples of what others have done in a way.

it really is a programming issue. Although I am a programmer, I dont have any game programming/ game modding skills. The features you are talking about directly change elements built into Rtcw, i.e. the limbo menu. Also, since the determination of which weapons a player is allowed to select depends on stats (shrubs stats), you would really need shrub. On top of making the mod, he also designed the stats here at ecgn.

I disagree. People camp the war room just as much now as before. The allies arnt just walking off with the docs.
I mayself are enjoying the close gun fights more now then before.
Change is good. It keeps a certain level of "trying to get on top of your game" again. I know, I know you just got there but you can get there again. Most pp don't like change and feel uncomfortable with it till they get used to it. Play more on the server before making a judgment. Give it a chance.
yea shes right nofx

like i said guys, this is an opinion of mine, IF it were easy, i would of done it myself. just the fact that u need X ammount of points to get X weapon on a server, doesnt that mean theyve already figured out a way to do it?
I already made that proposal weeks ago, Cowgomoo... Glad to see that someone else thought about it...
But, te bad side of it: we should reset the stats again.

Regarding weapon upgrades -- it's a mute point in my opinion. All that would happen is that brand new people would get sliced to ribbons by the ranks above them. They'd be lucky to get one kill a day using a pistol against venoms, flame-throwers, nades, fausts and airstrikes. I think some of you veterans should go in there with a pistol for a few days and see how many kills you rack up--and then consider what it would be like for someone with no skills whatsoever.
Only thing you'd create is a bigger noob killing field. Though I gather that's exactly what some people want at the beach.
Keek.

ok first of all reseting the stats again is stupid number 1, and second off the whole thing about requiring X amount of kills for X weapon is stupid..it will only force new people off the server, and it wont ever be done anyway

Keek I think cow was talking about everyone starting out with light weapons, meaning you could use thompsons,mp40s, and stens.
