I just built an Epox AMD nf2 system for my neighbor for under $500. It has ob video, and believe it or not, BF42 will run on it, albeit the video can't be cranked up. If you can't spare the $$, build something like that and get a vid card when you can.

Barton 2500, Crucial 512 pc2700, wd se 80gb hdd, Epox 8RGA+ w/mcp-t sound, enermax case/psu, Lite on cdrw, fdd.
Runs great. The Asus A7N8X deluxe would be worth the extra $20 if you could afford a vid card imo.

you would be surprised how much of a speed increase you would get if you had more ram.

I had 256 and EVERYTHING was slow. SO now I have a gig and everything is fast.

The problem is that XP uses a lot of ram. couple that with applications running in the background, and your virus software (which also uses lots of resources) your ram can be used up in no time. Put on top of that, playing a game, wow you'll be stuttering.

If I were you, I would buy more ram, at LEAST have 512. IF games are still slow, get a new vid card.

ya i agree ram helps alot... i sold my stick of 256 pc2100 and bougt 512 pc2700 and i even found a rebate on it .... its kingston or something like that.. and like i said after all the abuse my baby turns on every morn. ( of course Lady D be abusin my ass so me and the box are even)
