problem with call of duty

i just bought CoD today and went to install it I get to the end and a pop-up says that i have to download directx 9.0 so i clicked ok and it started to download then half way through it stoped saying that directx 9.0 wasent tested with windows xp and will now stop the download so i went to the directx site and tryed to download it myself and the same pop-up came up. is this fixable or am i screwed?

That is one long sentence.
I do not know why it is telling you to DL DX9, it should be ont he CD.

He is confused. It probably said install not 'download'.
Installing is the only reason he woud get the message 'not tested with XP' .
You just need to select 'install anyway'. You also need to make sure that Windows XP is up to date.
