Two Towers: Extended Edition

Postby Bagginses » Mon Nov 17, 2003 9:54 am

Just a reminder to everyone that the Two Towers: Extended Edition comes out tomorrow (the 18th). Go get it. It'll have an extra 43 minutes worth of footage than the Theatrical Edition, over 6 hours of bonus material, and 4 commentary tracks for everyone to enjoy. Now if that's not enough bonus stuff to make you happy, I don't know what will.

I'm waiting untill after the third movie comes out. There will inevitably be a boxed set with all 3. Hopefully less than the cost of all 3 seperate.

Probably a smart move, but there's no way in hell that I could wait that long. :)

I can't wait, especially to hear it on my new home theater(info here: http://forums.powervs.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=5400 ).

However, I will be auditioning some Swans. Their only distribution is located here: http://www.theaudioinsider.com/cgi-bin/theaudioinsider/speaker2.html?id=cJEL85e3

I want to audition the 5.2's and see how that dome mid range sounds. If I liek them better than my M60's, I will sell my Axiom speakers and buy Swans all around.

I don't have anything as big as that, but I do have a nice pair of KLH speakers for my set up in my apartment with a pair of Pioneers for rear speakers. I have my record player hooked up into all of it and it sounds nice. There's nothing like listening to old records on some good speakers.

Yes, and an extra DVD that's devoted to Gollum and the entire process in making him and all the pains they went through to make him look so real.

Alright, I just got the DVD today, so I probably won't be playing battlefield for a couple of days while I try to get through the nearly 12 hours of stuff on it. I'll let you know how it is once I'm done.

Yes, i got it also, however, I will be waiting until my new receiver comes in to listen to it. The Yamaha did not please me, so i took it back. Got an H/K 525 for $500 shipped to me(retail was $1,000) straight from H/K so full warranty.

Just picked mine up as well. I got the 5 disc set because I was really hankering for the Smeagol mini-bust. Goes well with the Argonath bookends from the FoTR 5-disc set, as well as my Moria Goblin Swordsman Statue, Uruk-Hai Scout bust, and Weapons of The Fellowship Plaque. And for anyone who purchased the set with the Smeagol bust in it, your also eligable to purchase the companion Gollum mini-bust from Sideshow Toys.

Can't wait for the Return of The King 5-disc set. I wonder what sculpture they'll be including with that one.......

I'm probably going to wait a bit to buy this one, even though I bought the last one immediately. This movie just didn't do it for me like the last one. However, I am really looking forward to the extended parts.

I've got my Argonath on top of my monitor on either side of my central speaker, plus one of the beautiful Sidewhow/Weta sculptures of Isengard. It's an imposing 12 inches tall. :) I have to find a place for Gollum now.
