For the guy it's simple...
- wake up one hour before the ceremony
- shave
- put suit on
- check rings
- go to church
- say yes
The women will take care of the rest. Just do as they say.

I'm getting married aug 7th 2004, no worries man, if you still wanna run then u shouldn't get married, being married means u have to check in with her, its called respect, and also your friends will change, because now her friends will be your friends, accept the wild crazy guys you still hang out with, best to let them go

did you just say it's best to let your friends go?
I don't think a marriage should be happening if you have to lose your friends. Just don't do crazy things, but still be friends.

Unfortunately Shockwave, that is what often happens. I have lost almost all my single friends to marriage. Wives don't often like their new husbands hanging out with the wild single guy. Even if you are just getting together to play video games or whatever. Many women are insecure that way.

I'm young, so I still have a LOT of time before getting married, but I don't think I could ever do that. my friends, who ive known for a very long time, are just as important, if not MORE important than my girlfriend. Is that bad? honestly i have no idea...

I think you guys are wrong, it depends on you and the wife to be, things don't need to change because you get married. You will find many guys here have an ultra cool wife. Marriage is about commitment and loyalty, shouldn't be about sacrifice. I'm married and happy

Camel, I agree with you. That is that way it SHOULD be. But like I said, I have lost many friends to marriage. So in my experience that is not the way things usually play out.
Needlepoint, if you think the single life is a waste of time then you are CLUELESS. However, I don't think that is the case, because I agree with the second part of your statement. Finding someone special to live your life with is awesome. If I ever find that someone I will gladly give up my single life.

It really depends on the couple and how they work things out but I wouldn't settle for losing my friends. I had that happen with just a girlfriend. after that I said never again.

If so what is you"r experience?
And can you give me advice?
IMO a marriage is a better option than having a child: if you are tired of your wife, just get a divorce, pay her a monthly fee, and you are done. When you have a kid, you have a bigger problem..

But serious for now: I've known you for a long ime now; and you will survive! Just live your life like you are used to do, the real difference is that it is more official now! If someone doesn't believe you when you tell him/her that you have a wife: show them the papers...
By the way, what do you want me to do, where do you want me to be and what the hell do you want me to where at the biggest day of your life? After all I am your witness
