After what I thought was a slow start, that game really grew on me. I can't wait for part 2.

Newest update, on bluesnews.com

The folks from GameSpy Industries send along a clarification that because of the delay (story) in the release of the Deus Ex: Invisible War Demo on FilePlanet (story), the worldwide release to the public will also be delayed, and rather than occurring during the chat session later today as originally announced, it will now take place "24 hours from now."

Baby, oh baby! I was a little worried that the developers would never be able to top or even equal how good the first Deus Ex was. After playing this demo though, all my fears have been allayed.

It combines the best of Deus Ex with better graphics, a physics engine(it's cool, if a little unrealistic), tight story, and streamlined interface. Hell, in this demo alone I was paying people off, backstabbing others, and betting on Greasel fights! It's all gravy!

The only downside I saw so far was that the game wouldn't save my hotkeys, so I was fiddling with the controls a lot. I'm sure that'll be fixed upon release though.

I have had corruptions with graphics. It is a problem with the Cat 3.8's. I am running 3.7's, though.....................

Also, my key binds seem to reset after a few seconds of playing.

The game's readme recommends running with the Cat 3.9's. It say the game won't run with the Cat 3.8's, so I can imagine the Cat 3.7's would be any better.

I fiddled with it a little today, and was very entertained by the interactive environment. I could pick up barrels, throw them over fences, shoot cones and watch 'em fly through the air, etc. Minor detail, but nice for immersiveness. Haven't played enought to make any other judgments....

Sigh.. when I try to start a new game it says "Your computer does not have enough free space to play the game, please click on EXC to exit. I have a 700+m swap, 512M ram and at least 1.5g on all my drives.. not sure what "space" it is talking about :(
