PS. Also, if you want a sport with very little stopping and constant action, watch rugby. Better yet, watch Hurling (basically Irish field hockey).
I thought Hurling was that sport I participated in on Friday and Saturday nights back in college!?

Ugh, if there is anything worse than football or basketball it's COLLEGE football or basketball!
God they are so bad. No talent, no good announcers.. ugh
And not too mention the fact that there are like 500 teams that play and it is on EVERY channel on Saturday's
The problem I personally have with pro sports, is that there's not nearly as much devotion to the team as with college. You spend all this time liking this one team and its players, then bam, they all go to other teams because they can get paid more money. Also, there's nothing quite like watching the team of the school you go to win big.

i couldn't agree more, i like to watch the highlights of college football but way to many games get televised, and they are boring to watch, and they only show college hockey when it gets down to the Frozen Four

Make ESPN a tier service cause their 25% increases compared to all other programmers that only charge about 1-5 % is total BS. Also so us people that cant stand all those cry baby freakin sports players.
Why do i have pro sports players anymore cause when im was over in the gulf war for 8 months away from my family talked to them a total of about 15 times and then in somalia for another 6 1/2 months. To come back home and have pro baseball players crying about being away from their families for 3 days and only being acouple states away go on strike.
Well F*** them!!!!!
SO DONT SAVE ESPN!!!!!!!!! if you like sports then you pay them ignorant SOB's salaries yourself and not all the people that could careless about them.
BTW dont take it personal yadad since you started the thread, my comments aren't directed at you.

well more people like sports then dont like sports, so your fighting for a lost cause, and i don't see/hear them complaining over not seeing there families for 3 days, and plus you have to remember that they are doing this as a job for 15 years or so where your not seeing them for 6 months or however long your over there, i agree its hard each way but remember that sports players wont be with their families when there 20-40 years old, where as a soldier, you will only miss them for half a year, and be with them the rest of your life...either way you look at it its difficult but you have to remember both sides of the story

OH my god Paul i cant believe you just posted something so bad. You got no clue on that issue and they were complaining about it, why do you think they went on strike that was one of their main issues about being away from their families not to mention their families can travel with them hell the make acouple hundred thousand and up a year.
Not to mention they play for acouple hours a week compared to working 24/7 for 8 months do the math it will take them that 20-40 years to even come close to that amount of away time a service man does.
Not to mention a pro sports player says hey honey i got hit with a baseball today. Where as i call home and tell my wife I saved my ship today along with my 300 shipmates from a FRIGGIN EXOCET MISSILE. If you dont know what an EXOCET Missile is or can do to a ship look up the U.S.S. Stark during the Iran/Iraq War.
Btw what the hell you talking about with 20-40 years. I spent 8 1/2 years in the navy and 5 years at sea. The amount of time pro sports players will spend in their carreers at 40 years wont even come close to the amount of time a 20 veteran will spend away from theirs.
Now let me school you on how big of a difference there is.

Also heres my 2nd ship after a collision at sea

scroll down to the one with the big whole in the side of the ship. & Yes that is the other ships anchor and front end sticking out the side of our ship.
Still believe there's not much difference.

Paul,
You have a lot too learn about the world you live in.
You should become better informed before spouting drivel.
Remember the saying...
Why let the world think you are a fool when you can open your mouth and remove all doubt.
