Is there really an Admin presence?

I played on the server during the day/early night for the first time in quite awhile. It reminded me of why I do not play on the sever during the day/early night now.

I want to know if admins are actually watching the game? There is numerous amounts of blocking going on. Yet when it is brought to an admins attention, nothing is done about it. They are too busy playing the game to see text I suppose instead of doing their job. This is what I touched upon before. Too many admins who would rather see their name all prettied up when they do !admintest instead of actually doing their job. Guys, being an admin does not make you any cooler nor does it get you the chicks. Well maybe it will get you some attention whores...

Anyways, things are so much better when you have a quality admin(s) on. This is not because I am in the same clan as Spaceghost but the guy actually goes into spec mode and watches the game instead of sitting there playing all the time. Zog does the exact same thing too. The quality of the games goes up astronomically when either is on the prowl admining.

So, is it really so hard to spec for even 30 min before you start to play? Also, when someone says someone is blocking, how about going spec and actually looking? Yes, you'll lose your precious points but no one said being an admin was glamorous.

For the most part the admins do their job, but I see where your comming from. Some don't admin and they play, but theres usually others to cover for them.

Sorry , I have been out this past 2-3 days because of problems of computer and have to reformat all.
Whats time do you get connected?, from 6 pm to 10 pm I assume?, then I am there, snce I am stuck to my comp for so looooooooong time..................

Sad to say but I have to agree with aphid........ I will come into a game with of ton of bullshit going on and there will be at least 2-3 admins in there not doing a thing.........When I am in there I do what I can and what I see and if someone says something about a doorblocker or something else I usually go in spec and watch.........and the thing is that some of the"other" admins that are in there at the time do nothing...I think it is time to thin out the admins.....even if includes myself.....We need more dedicated people who are willing to keep the game going smooth, and some that are admins don't do anything

I will say that Luniticfringe, Zog, and Amaryl are some of the best admins in there and keep the game going smoothly..."Some" of the others are just a waste and need to be replaced

thanks alot, i will kick and use my dont block the door message .if someone says something, hard to tell when ur axis if someone is blocking without anyone saying anything. when i do spec i'm watching the bunker and follow the people who had complaints against them, not all admining takes place in open chat. sorry for not being such a hard ass. i have a life behond this game and its not going well, i cant always deal with peoples little problems, nor my own sometimes thats why i play so much to get rid of frustration. must be nice to perfect tell me how is. so i dont forget

I didn't say all the rest of the admins do nothing.......I said "SOME".....
and I am sorry if I didn't mention your name above for being a good admin, I didn't mention everyone that is a good admin I just mentioned a few.......and nobody said anything about being perfect......god knows noone is perfect.........and sorry your life isn't going so good......Hope things get better for you

When I appointed admins, I looked for three things;

Name Recognition.
Ability to speak foreign language.
Times they played.

I wanted enough Admins to cover the server 24/7, but this isn't completely possible.

I'll admit that when I play I have a hard time policing the Spanktards because I'm having a good time, but when I have to stop playing to babysit some idiot, I'm not usually in a good mood.

That being said, even though I enjoy playing (and kicking ass as I'm oft prone to do...

) I think I take equal satisfaction knowing people appreciate the job I do. Of course there are a few "Authority Hating Idiots" who bash me no matter what I do.

I'm also proud of some of the Admins I've chosen in the past (not all, but some). I'm not going to name names, because the ones that do a good job know it, and they hear it from me enough to know it.

I'm all for some pruning, but I'd also like some effective late-night Admins to keep the Nocturnal-Tards from wreaking havoc.

Thanks for the compliment Steph! I didn't know anyone noticed little ol' me..

As for all our admins. I think we have a hella good bunch here. I play late at night so I see only a few but they all pitch in so some can play and we switch off without anyone even saying anything.. its like esp

. One admin watches things then jumps in another will jump out to watch things. It's really cool (team effort) on all the admin's parts like Keek, Ship, Spaceghost, Crunch,Savant just to name a few. You all keep up the good work!

keeping the level of play up is important, plz help out.
have the slacker admins been pm'ed?
are there other complaints?
if some one wasnt happy with admining efforts, who could you complain to?

my comment wasnt ment for u steph, theres no reason to defend urself, it wasnt an attack it was a statment. everyone likes to have it their way.. but its not burgerking, and if aphid thinks he can do a better job then us then let him try. since this is his 2d or 3rd post about him complaining about blocking and admins. im not trying to be an ass, but jeeze stuffs gonna happen doors are gonna be blocked not matter what anyone does. make the most of it, its not like anyone pays to play on the server, which is a good indicator of what ecgn is doing to make the gaming experience a little better. if u want the perfect server than please feel free to rent one.

hey, has the server missed my admining that much :?) ive been addicted to FFXI (final fantasy 11 for those of u who dont play rpg games) i checked the total time played on there earlier, over 7 days! woo. ill have to get back on wolf and say hey again sometime. sorry bout how i didnt really give much of a warning about this :\

I personally haven't been playing as much cause school is keeping me way too busy. But when I do play I try to watch for stuff like that. I usually don'g get all crazy with my admining cause it gets annoying when there are 4 admins slapping the same person. :freak:

It's also funny cause for a time people were complaining that there were too many admins. Now it seems like there isn't enough or at least high quality... But I personally will pay more attention they if that's what people want.

Not trying to be mean here Shipwreck, but shut up. The only time I have ever asked to be an admin was jokingly to Zog. Lunitic said he would post his binds in the admin forum for me. I did not know such a forum exists so I said to Zog, jokingly, to make me an admin so I can see it. I don't know if I really want to be an admin or not myself. If it was offered to me maybe I would take it or I might not.

This thread is a valid complaint as other people agree too. If the admins did their job then I would not have any reason to "complain" about it. The only reason you seem to be so defensive is because you feel you could to do a better job yourself but do not do it. To tell you the truth though, I did not even have you in mind when I wrote the post as I don't really see you much to make any judgment about your abilities. I guess, if you want, I can watch you when you come on and lump you in here if you fit the criteria. Would that make you feel better so it can fit into your "us versus them" mind set?

Now, since you missed the whole point of this thread I'll condense it for you. It is not about de admining anyone or pointing fingers. It is for the current admins to open their eyes and do something instead of sitting on their asses and doing nothing while all this is going on. Listen to what people are saying on the server instead of !cancelvote or just ignoring it completely. Look into the complaints.

By the way Aphid, I know where you're coming from. I sometimes see stuff happening and some well-known admins are there, but they don't do anything.

Also, late at night it's a mad-house. I refuse to play on any server whose Administrators I don't trust or agree with. I can see people not wanting to venture into that chaos.

That being said, I've appointed some admins that promise me they play late at night, but after a while they either disappear or they end up playing at regular hours to hang with the regular crew. I can't say I blame them, because it's the regular crew that makes things fun there.

It's a fine line...too many Admins vs. not enough Admins, good Admins vs crappy Admins. The late night thing might be tough to tackle, but I'm all for a re-evaluation of Admin talent and availability.

After starting to play wolf again for a steady three weeks I have noticed all the admins do terrific jobs. Im not saying this because they are all my friends but because they do a damn good job. If you see a blocker then report them, its hard enough for the admins to play, enjoy themselves, and watch for blockers and complete smacktards. Its pretty hard to multitask in such a crazy server. Just playing on there is hard when its a 25 v 25 game.

As for the !cancelvote things you got to pay attention, after they do that they usually say "why the vote". Ive been playing here a long while steadily since May. I dont think admins would become admins if it were like a job, patrolling the doors, ladders, watching text for complaints and etc. I think adminning is more of if theres a complaint or they see a rule being broke then they take action. If it were a job they wouldnt want to be admins. They should also have the chance to play and not babysit the whole game.

If you have a problem with a set few of admins don't beat around the bush say names or pm them and say "hey stop f'ing around and start kicking these smacktards."

I think just today I made a few complaints, the admins recognized them and people were kicked.

In conclusion, all the admins here do great jobs. (at least the ones i play with)

But if some feal the need for re-evaluation then do it and weed out the ones you all feel are smacktards themselves
