Threat level Orange
I was Just wondering what everyone thought about the elevation to Orange. Do you think it helps or does it lose some of its value if it is used and nothing happens?

I don't really care, it seems that it gets elevated every other week, and no major attacks yet.
I think that Robin Williams puts it best when he says:
"Every so often, Donald Rumsfeld steps up and says, "I don't know where...I don't know when...But something awful is gonna happen...that's it."

Without getting into to much of a rant, I believe we put to much importance into security. Yes, I love that we have people protecting us and trying to ensure that more horrible attacks don't occur. My problem is that a lot of people seem to forget that security's purpose is to protect all that we hold dear, not as an excuse to invade any country we see fit and kick the asses of anyone waving around Kalashnikovs.
Okay, I don't want to pinch anyone's nerves, but my point is that when so much attention and so many resources are put into defense and security the real important issues, the things we have the security in place to protect, are ignored because all anyone cares about is "are we safe?" or "why do I have to be patted down everytime I go to the airport?"
Hope I didn't scare everyone off, but I felt the need to rant.
So, no I don't really put any attention into the levels of terror alert.

Actually last time it was elevated was March or May. And yes something did happen today, Air France air planes were delayed because of Al Queda threats.
I think we should pay attnetion to the threat levels because its people who don't care that could possibley have walked by that terrorist about to hijack a plane in the air port. If we are told the threat level is elevated you should keep an eye out for wierd thing especially in high populated areas. If we go back to the way it was before 911 the same thing will happen again we will walk around high and mighty like we are king of the world and nothing can stop us then boom another attack even worse then the last, then what will you have to say. Don't think about yourself there are plenty of others in the world including your family and friends. So don't take the threat levels as a joke because they are serious and they do have a meaning behind them. My mother works for the TSA at Logan Air port in Boston, my brother is in the Marines, and all his friends are in Iraq fighting.
We pay the F.B.I. and the goverment to do their job, if that means finding out about terrorists attacks and raising the threat level then we must respect that because it is their job and thats what they do for a living.
Please don't take the threat levels as a joke, if we go around like 911 never happened or the way it was before, then an even worse attack can happen.
