:D No, Canada traces diseased cow to Canada. US has no reliable cattle tracing like Canada has. I guess it's about to change.

Strange that one sick cow can bring billion-dollar markets down. Makes you wonder on what our great modern economies are based upon.

U.S. Traces Mad Cow to Canada?

When we had an outbreak of mad cow in the UK, about 6 - 10 years ago, it was all over the news...

We also saw film footage of U.S. Farmers burning carcases on their ranches in the states. They think it stems from feeding dead diseased cattle back to the living ones.
So the U.S. and Canada started feeding dead cattle to pigs, then fed the pigs to the cattle in an attempt to break the chain.

This obviously did not work.

At the time, no one knew why U.S. Farmers were burning their cattle secretly.....
.....now you do. ;)
