Anyone here play Need for Speed Underground?
Was thinking of picking this one up. Supports 8 players online. Got very good reviews.

Yea way too many hackers, but supposidly EA's coming out with a patch that will fix it, anywho its pretty fun but multiplayer is crap IMO, I got it for christmas and beat it boxing day(day after christmas) if you have lots of money to waste go ahead and buy it, but it would be better to save your money for another game coming out.

As Matt174e and Ryan both agree:
Though my game is on PS2, as the tone seems to be PC for above.. and I'm not into broadband for it :x
It is a good game altogether, but after a certain point it just becomes WAY too repetitive. It might be a different track .. but you've done that road, just a little shorter or a little longer or the other way around, or perhaps with less traffic, etc etc. I enjoyed drifiting around on the drift tracks - even if the computer couldn't truly compete on them.. plus the drag races were a blast when crashing (if I didn't care to win - love those cinematics). I also liked the fact that it was harder to see when travelling at higher speeds - unlike other racing games.
As for some of the aspects, I didn't see any point to having certain car upgrades by certain companies in packages - if the different packages do not do anything (and if they do, it does not seem like it). How all the cars are ranked to their own abilities and not against a set level - ie their acceleration/handling/speed. As it was clearly evident that certain cars were underranked to me.
It is fun changing the look of your car(s) .. though often is a hassle that I wouldn't care to do. I mean what's the point if the car doesn't even take damage??
Like Matt said, I went through a phase where I would play for hours on end.. and then, got bored with it and stopped playing

If your into Nascar type games get it. Just got it yesturday, trading it in tomorrow. Personally I feel it is boring and not up to par to with what it said on the back of the box. First off you can't go out and just get the car of your choice and win money and buy every part you want. You have to sit down with this game a good deal of your time, win a ton of races, and so on. You have to win to unlock parts and crap, sort of like Nascar. Its an ok game, just not my type of game. Thats another thing someone mentionet you cant hook it up like an all-american badd ass hot rod type, its basically all rice rockets no offense to some that like rice rockets, I don't mind them either, but was looking foreward to an all-american hooked up car. Yea I shouldn't have expected that with the cover and all but come on, and this isn't any Gran Turismo at all. Its just stupid you have to win to access new parts, it should be you have to win, get cash, bey em. Its also a bit hard to tell where to turn with all the flashy lights, and the fancy signs, my eyes are a bit bad but come on my friend agreed with me.
Buli I don't know what type of racing games (if at all) you like. But if its Gran Turismo types, don't get it. Nascar types go for it. It will get borring though mark my words, basically as others said same map, only small, bigger, or different parts blocked off.
If I had to rate between a 1-10, it gets a 6.5 from me. (Im a tough critic) Come on I play MOH for PS2, BF, and Metal Gear Solid, guess Im into realism.

I've been a big fan of the NFS series for quite a while. I think the game-play on this version is a big improvement over previous versions (not that they were bad at all). However, as others have said, the big problem is in the vehicles they chose. Half the fun in the older versions was getting to drive cars that I've fantasized about driving; such as Ferraris and Lambos. Who cares about hot-rodding a Mitsu or Nissan? When my own car could blow away 90+% of the cars in the video game, that's not very exciting to me.
