Who doesn't post here since the map changes? Or are you talking about how the server sat stagnant for about a year when the last changes were made and people left during that? Which I don't even think anyone left during that period but it is the only thing that makes sense with your comment.

I wasn't talking about the RTCW forum regulars, I was talking about the regulars of the actual game. Like Giggles, Stephanie, Zog, Mobius, etc.

You mean the regulars that moved on to a different game? I don't think the rotation had anything to do with it. Games get old, people move on...that's life:(

i did the "current hottest new FPS" for a long time (God did I get burned by the cheating in CS). But 1942 takes it to an entirely new level.

Running around with a flamethrower is fun and all but it pales in comparison to taking out a FRIGGIN TIGER TANK WITH AN EXPLOSIVE PACK!

Every so often a genre changing game comes along and BF1942 is it.

Its all fine and dandy to run around shooting each other but when you throw in evading an incoming air strike and artillery barrage, while hiding from a frigging tiger tank it takes it to an entire new level.

I am a bit older than most of you (although not by much I tell myself) and you rarely get to see an game that changes everything in the computer industry and BF 1942 is one of them.

I used to play Wolf3D back on my old 286 when it completely changed the dynamic of what gaming is and BF1942 ranks up there with raising the bar.

I liked Wolf too like everyone, but I must say that BF is the best game I've ever played. Frankly, I didn't believe it when it was first described to me. Picture Wolfenstein on a map what 10-20 times bigger (I'm sure someone, somewhere has done the math) with tanks and planes. On top of that, add more "realism" than Wolf. I tried to play RTCW several months back to see what it was like on ECGN because the Wolf boards were hilarious (Col. Bukake where are you), but I found the game to be very limited compared to BF. To each his own, but I have to say that I think BF more than holds its own against RTCW.

Wolf never did interest me. I first played BF1942, then tried wolf. when I saw wolf, i almost puked. Ugly ugly old graphics, all you do is spawn and die.

BF42 RULES!

ummm someone made the comment about not playing the bf1942 single player, thats it, thats what makes wolf 10 times better the single player version was awesome period, this is my opinion about the wolf forums dying thats all not a flame on BF1942, I like the team speak in the game, I'm the type of player that looks for a fight and BF1942 doesn't offer that in anyway, looks to me like campers are everywhere, but yes thats my opinion, so what did you have for dinner ??????? Single player makes wolf 10 times better? I can't remember the last single player game I played, let alone one that would rival the best MP game ever. I need human opponents to have any fun at all. Also, I get the impression you've never played BF when you say something like, "looks to me like campers are everywhere." Not on the ECGN server, but there are campers... probably because there are VEHICLES to camp.

single player games don't really do it for me anymore. I have to have that human competition. I just don't feel any type of 'ownage' playing against a bot. It's gotta be online for me

i just hated bf because when i shoot someone he has to die!!! he doesn't have to lag just next to me.

i can believe that those games make it worth the play xenius but i never actually played in such a game.

and on top of that my maps take hours to load. witch i can understand perfectly. cause they are huge. but i just want a quick game that i can turn of and on in no time.

and my et maps load in a couple of seconds so im happy.

wolf is dying so what get over it and play some cod or et or perhaps even bf42

I can understand the map loading issue =). I used to hate it. Then I got a decent computer with good ram and it only takes about 20 seconds. I'm usually some of the first people in.

me too. I bought a gig, thought it would be overkill, but it's proved it's use many times with BF. no more skipping

There is no denying that the singleplayer Wolf is much better than the single player BF; frankly there is no sinlge player BF. But for pure gaming pleasure, nothing beats killing a human opponent, they are the most dangerous game. But I think everyone on these boards knows that since I don't see too many threads about the single player game.

I have to say that I do love games with a really rippin' good story, and from what I've heard of Wolfenstein's single-player experience, is that it's awesome. I guess I treat SP and MP completely differently. If I want an interesting story and a realistic experience, I'll go for single-player games. However, with multi-player, I like things to be dynamic where you can utilize strategy. Granted, strategy sometimes gets lost on BF42 playing on a pub and all, but I think we do a damn fine job in teamspeak and such. I think all games reach their primes then fade. It'll happen to BF42. Then there'll be sequels. I would not be surprised if we see a future edition of Wolf.

enemy territory is the sequel.

they were making the game planning to sell it but something went wrong and they decided to only make a multyplayer aspect of it and to release it for free .

ill upgrade my ram soon. because i really need it.
even for enemy territory.

ill try to play afther the upgrade. but i doubt it will assimilate me. some people prefer bf others et or wolf

ps: i like the way people from bf and wolf talk about the same thing without flaming :)
