You dont NEED to have icons on the desktop. They can be stored in "MY COMPUTER."

Hes using Auto Hide. Right click on the taskbar, and go to Properties. Look for "auto hide the taskbar."

When you roll your mouse down there, it will pop up. When not in use, it will dissapear.

You can also put the programs that you use the most on your taskbar so theyre just one click away.

Yeah, I was graphically challenged there for a bit until I figured out how to replace the .jpg that I'd uploaded.

A bit messy at the moment, I use a small program from MS that changes the desktop by itself and have it set with pictures of my daughter :) isn't she a cutie:)
