I think it's weird that last year in the same city as I live in now, I had a ping of about 70- 80. I went away for about a year and came back to the same city, but different side of town and now I ping 100-140. I even ordered the premiere service that Adelphia offers to get a lower ping and still nothing has changed. I live in Colorado btw.

Not necessarily. Depends on the provider, and the load on the cable provider.
DSL = direct connex to inet.
Cable = shared with peeps in your 'hood, bigger chance for lag.
My area is nothing but developements everyone, and i never get lag, and always ping good. But Cable in most cases is better than DSL. Ask Jeffro

I used to live in Omaha N. cable was good there but was a long time ago.
Thinking about satellite- anybody?
Last I heard, satellite was garbage for online gaming. It's just as bad as dial up. Its really only for people that dont have any other options where they live. They may have made some improvements, but I doubt it was anything drastic.
