Comcast cable was already fast as frick. This is awesome.

Why anybody has DSL is beyond me; not including those who aren't in a cable area of coarse.

Did they always have it at 5 or did they just upgrade?

there was for a while here road runner premium class which costed more at 5 down and standard was 3 down.

Premium is now gone and everyone has 5.

Your lucky your not where I live and stuck with Charter Communications, they flat out have the worst customer/technical support/service.

If I could I would pay more for slower DSL, but can't get that, its not avaliable. I can not move. If you do not see me playing on #1 much over last 6 months, that is because of Charter Communications and their tatic to over load/sell areas.

Here is the last reply from their tech support;
I have forwarded all of these details to our administrators. I will be contacting you again in the event I hear anything regarding progress with this concern.

This is it? Maybe I'll hear something? What a way to deal with customers.

256k up, I'm lucky to see 150 or maybe 200, usually much less.

My only other option is from speednetllc.net and I already tried thier service too, it is about the same and at times much worst, unless they have changed, their support/service was horrible too.

I bought HL2 and MOHPA, I like both of those games, but playing them and battlefield 1942/vietnam online stinks with Charter Communications.

IMO check to see what isp options you have when you plan on moving.

This is a free upgrade from comcast! (more perks to come too, Free ComcastRhapsody, some voice over IP and streaming movies - ya gotta love it when the try to get stock prices up)

I was paying the extra $10 for 4meg... but now they up'ed everybody (in most areas) so the $10 extra fee will a. go away or b. get you an extra meg in some areas. (I opted for the extra meg to get 5meg but to be honest cant tell much of a differnce from 4 to 5 meg)

But... press the RESET button (normally a tiny hole in the back of your modem) and you should gain an extra 1meg download and another 128 upload. IMO the extra upload helps most.

Comcast is getting an email ready to inform everyone soon but you can get the speed upgrade now in most areas!
