I did that once as a kid, but on a farm-style electric fence (which obviously isn't as powerful as this one). It still hurt, though.

I have an electric fence on my "back 40" right now, and a section of it runs near our bonfire pit (which is often the site of parties, etc). Everytime we have a party, my wife dares me to pee on the fence. Nooooo thanks!! Doesn't matter how drunk I am....noooooooo way!

I saw on myth busters that this was not posible. It is difficult to explain, but basically the stream of urine is not a constant flow. If filmed with a slow motion camera, you would see the urine as droplets close togeather but not touching. So an electric current could not flow up and come in contact with the body.

Oh!Tell that to my pee pee,I can still remmember it like it was yesterday(it was 47 years ago) and it can if the current is strong enough.Also the current we are talking about is DC not AC.And yooper I like that description-thats funny.

Hat Rack is right, its impossible, i saw that program too. Plus you can't see electricity like that at all, it would have been more convincing without that cheesy affect.

I, too, saw that Mythbusters episode, but trust me, I am very certain of the feeling of electricity running through my penis. Ever stick your finger in a light socket? Well, yeah, next time stick your dick in there.

Smikey makes a good point...electricity can indeed jump from drop to drop of urine, so long as there is sufficient current (amperage). Although, I question this drop-drop-drop theory of a urine stream. Maybe it is my super-human Peter North pubococcygeal muscles, but when I pee, I can shoot a pretty solid stream for several feet. AND - the electric wire of an electric fence is much closer to one's penis than the third rail of a subway track...so a solid stream of urine hitting an electric fence is much more probable than a subway rail. Solid stream of urine = conducts electricity = zapped schlong.

In fact, this exact theory was put to the test on a subsequent episode of the Mythbusters (episode 14, to be exact), where they revisitied the third rail myth. Adam urinates on an electric fence, and he got zapped. That was confirmed. And as far as "seeing" electricity, Alofwar, of course you can. Ever see lightning? A welding rod? Or a Van de Graaf generator? If you still don't believe me, go hook up some jumper cables to your car battery. Now take the two other ends and touch them together. Brrrrzap. Sparks will fly. Caution - it is quite likely that you may get hurt if you indeed attempt this (up to, and including death). Therefore, do so at your own risk. I will not be responsible for what ever decision you make in terms of playing with electricity. I do not advise you do this. Oh, and watch out for exploding battery acid, too.

I'm not saying the video is authentic or fake. Who knows, who cares. But I can absolutely, positively tell you that peeing on a farm style electric fence, with sufficient force behind your "solid" stream of urine, can, and DID result in a rather unpleasant shock. I am living proof.

Well said yooper. Remember a car battery puts out 800 amps of juice why'll the third rail puts out very little because it need the voltage not the amperage.So believe me I for one will NOT take yooper up on his invatation (been there done that and never again) so yes I watch where I pee.So party harty dudes just stay away from the fence or you will get your thrill for the day.

lol it's a pretty dumb assumption to say that all streams of pee behave the same way anyway. That's not science. If you have a full enough bladder there's no reason why it souldn't be a constant stream. It would at least have a good shot at staying together.

In any case it is possible, it does happen, as anyone who's lived in the countryside around electric cattle fences can tell you. Did it myself, I was 15 drunk and on a bet and it stung like a bitch. If you ignore the thousands of first hand experiences and rely on a pretty weak argument about pee not generally being a constant stream then as a scientist you really ought to be hanging your head in shame.
